What is an Owner’s Technology Representative?
An Owner’s Technology Representative helps the homeowner define technology requirements, compare proposals, coordinate project participants, and verify that completed systems meet the agreed expectations. IMARA provides this owner-side oversight for luxury residences.
How is IMARA different from a technology integrator?
An integrator supplies and installs systems within its contracted scope. IMARA represents the owner’s requirements across the technology program, including scope review, coordination, quality, and acceptance. The responsibilities and limits of IMARA’s engagement are defined in the project agreement.
When should an owner involve IMARA?
Early architectural planning offers the most opportunity to coordinate infrastructure, lighting, controls, and equipment space. IMARA can also join during design, bidding, construction, or a project transition to assess the current position and establish next steps.
Can IMARA work with an existing architect, builder, or integrator?
Yes. IMARA can work alongside the existing project team to clarify requirements, responsibilities, system interfaces, and acceptance criteria. The engagement is tailored to the project’s stage and the owner’s needs.
What technology does IMARA oversee?
The program can include lighting and shading, audio and video, private cinema, networks, security and access, automation, power protection, and specialty systems. The agreed scope determines which disciplines receive review and oversight.
